Monkey Thorn Lodge is a beautiful boutique Adult Only Guest lodge and Wellness Spa located in White River, Mpumalanga

The lodge is situated in the picturesque town of White River in the heart of the Lowveld. 

Designed with complete comfort and relaxation in mind for our guests whilst creating a true traditional feel of the Lowveld, the lodge and wellness spa bring an international standard of quality accommodation to White River.

Our nine free standing deluxe luxury suites are set out in two hectares of indigenous gardens give a feeling of being in the bush yet we are only 1.5km’s from the center of White River, giving our guests the best of both worlds to explore the surrounding area.

The main lodge building hosts our restaurant, where guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner.

In addition to the restaurant  there is our lounge and bar where guests can unwind with a good book or catch up on the day’s sightseeing while enjoying pre-dinner drinks.

The Wellness centre opened in 2025 offering our guests a complete wellness and spa facility.

There is a comprehensive fitness gym, with the lastest cardiovascular machines, weights and strengthening equipment.

The spa has treatment rooms for massagaes, exfoliations and body wraps as well as a pedicure station, a manicure bay and offers a complete beauty and wellness package.

This is complemented by an infrared sauna, Hocatts ozone detox chamber, a flotation deprivation tank, hot tub, ice bath and state of the art massage chairs.

After a day of relaxation and pampering our guests can relax on the veranda, which gives a feeling of memories of Africa and enjoy the evening sunsets whilst sipping a sundowner or just taking in the amazing bird life we have due to our stunning trees and indigenous flora.

The privacy at the lodge for our guests is second to none as there is so much space to be enjoyed and we have ensured the lodge is completely secure with only monitored gate access and perimeter fencing. Peace and tranquility is assured.
